Hannah Al Rashid erlangte erste Bekanntheit als Gast-VJ bei MTV, doch ihr Durchbruch gelang ihr mit ihrer Rolle in „Modus Anomali“ unter der Regie von Joko Anwar, der später ihr Mentor wurde. Obwohl es sich um eine kleine Rolle handelte, führte ihr Auftritt in „Modus Anomali“ zu weiteren Filmangeboten, da die Filmbranche ihr schauspielerisches Talent zunehmend erkannte. So auch Gareth Evans, der sie für „Safe Haven“ besetzte, einen Teil der „V/H/S/2“-Anthologie.
